Well, the moving OUT is complete. Now comes the moving IN! Combining two households has proven to be challenging, but we’re surviving. We worked on rearranging the living room last night. Here’s a quick sneak peek… I’ll take some better pics to share once it’s done!
The chalkboard globe has said “Give Thanks” since Thanksgiving. Probably time to change that!
Ignore the mess on the coffee table. We’re working on that. And also ignore the bottle of Bud Light Platinum on the side table, because that’s just embarrassing.

A few pictures from the second week of my “Sketching in Color” class at Flicker Street Studios. We worked with markers, pens and watercolors today. REALLY had fun. I feel like the whole idea of sketching instead of drawing really clicked. One week to go!

Well, I guess I’m testing out that whole “3rd time’s the charm” idea. After a previous failed attempt at Project 365, and then a massive failure a few months ago at a measly month-long photo challenge, I’ve decided to attempt to take a photo a day for a year… again. I waited until now to share this, just in case I tripped right out of the gate, but I feel I’m safely into “giving this a real shot” territory at this point.
This is my photo from yesterday, taken at my first “Sketching in Color” class at Flicker Street Studios here in Memphis. The class was super fun and informative, and I’m excited about the next few weeks of classes!

The first thing I moved to the new house was my art/craft supplies (obviously… most important stuff goes first!). I have a nice little space set up in the guest bedroom, and I dove into a new project last night. One problem… lighting. There isn’t much natural light in the room, and at this time of year, there is none by the time I get home from work.
I’m sure there are other bloggers who deal with this! What do you do? Are there particular bulbs you recommend? Do I need reflectors? I have a tabletop lighting set from Cowboy Studio, but the light box isn’t helpful for progress pictures. Is there a way to use the lights from this without them looking too harsh?

So, you’re not going to believe this, but I’m moving again! Just one short year after moving into my beautiful apartment, I’m pulling up stakes and taking my stuff about 1/2 mile down the road to move in with my beau.
I have lots of projects in mind in the new digs, but I have to admit it’s been tough seeing the apartment I worked so hard on dismantled! I took down the iron-on headboard on Saturday, and you’ll be happy to know, it came off with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Not one flake of paint came off the wall. So happy!
I’ll be back soon with new projects in a new space! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season… Happy 2012!
