It’s official! I’m a Mrs!! I’m sure that will get less weird over time, right?
Now that the wedding is behind us, I should have more time to devote to my little blog! I have a few wedding-y projects in the queue, starting with our wedding invitations. All of the supplies cost less than $50, and I love the way they turned out!
Here are the supplies I used:
Folders and envelopes
RSVP cards and envelopes
Cream Cardstock (Invite page, address card, hang tag)
Kraft Paper Cardstock (pocket, “at home” card)
Gold beading cord
Small brads (used to attach invite to the folder)
Paper cutter (absolutely necessary – I already had this, so it isn’t included in the project cost)
Small hole punch

Comment by metalandmud March 25, 2013 @ 8:17 pmwhat did you use to mail these?
Comment by Brooke April 6, 2013 @ 2:52 pmI used the envelopes that came with the cards (http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/5-x-6-1/2-kraft-note-card-value-pack-697201/). It took 2 regular stamps.
Comment by metalandmud April 6, 2013 @ 7:14 pmWhere did you get the “Happily Ever After” rounds on the front of the invitation?
Comment by Alli April 12, 2013 @ 12:44 pmI printed them on card stock and cut them out using a large round punch.
Comment by metalandmud April 12, 2013 @ 1:01 pmDid you use a template for the font? If so where is it from, I really like it!
Comment by Natalee April 18, 2013 @ 8:27 amNatalee
I didn’t use a template for the layout. I just played around with fonts and wording until I found something I liked! As for the fonts themselves, one is Engravers MT. I can’t remember the other off the top of my head.
Comment by metalandmud April 19, 2013 @ 10:33 pmThe other font is Total 90. You can get it on dafont.com
Comment by metalandmud April 20, 2013 @ 10:25 pmYes, I would also like to know if you used a template? I love these invites, you did a great job!!
Comment by Halley April 19, 2013 @ 9:56 pmGreat invitation! How did you secure the pocket on the left side of folder?
Comment by Kristin April 22, 2013 @ 9:31 pmThx!
Plain old Elmer’s school glue!
Comment by metalandmud April 22, 2013 @ 10:03 pmThx!!
Comment by Kristin April 23, 2013 @ 8:37 pmDo you have a template? I really like your invitations and would like mine to look similar! I’ve been playing around in MS Word and a few online sites and can’t really find anything like yours. Thanks!
Comment by Rita Raisanen May 9, 2013 @ 11:12 pmdid you also use cardstock for the outer part where you put the “happily ever after”? thanks
Comment by Melissa May 30, 2013 @ 10:26 pmYes, all card stock.
Comment by metalandmud June 17, 2013 @ 10:54 amThese are fantastic! Do you remember the dimensions you used for everything?
Comment by Erin August 27, 2013 @ 10:10 pmCould you tell me what font the ‘Happy Ever After’ but is? Thankyou
Comment by amie allen September 23, 2013 @ 1:06 pmDo you remember the measurement for the inside pocket?
Comment by Amanda September 25, 2013 @ 11:06 amWho did you get to print the invitation out?
Comment by des October 12, 2013 @ 11:51 pmI did it myself, on a laser printer.
Comment by metalandmud October 26, 2013 @ 10:19 pmAre there step by step instructions on how to make/print the invitation? I have all the materials but a little unsure on how or where to start.
Comment by Maria October 23, 2013 @ 8:26 pmI started with making the folders (cutting and gluing the pocket). Then moved on to printing. But there’s no right way to do it!
Comment by metalandmud October 26, 2013 @ 10:18 pmLOVE these! What dimensions did you use for the page size (the cardstock with the text that you put onto the card)?
Comment by Liese November 20, 2013 @ 12:51 amThese are absolutely perfect, and seems like something I would love to do for my wedding. Unfortunately, I don’t ever have time to do any DIY like I would like to. Would you consider making these for a price?
Comment by Marissa Schmeltzer December 6, 2013 @ 4:47 pmActually, I’m about a month away from having a baby, so I’m afraid I won’t have time for this big of a project. There are lots of people on Etsy who make inivites! Check them out!
Comment by metalandmud December 9, 2013 @ 9:18 amCan you give actual dimensions for everything in the invitation? I’m planning to make my invitations to look similar to these, very cute!
Comment by Jenn Santos December 9, 2013 @ 12:30 amI don’t have one handy to measure, but if I find one I’ll sent the measurements to you. In the meantime, just keep in mind that the outer folder card is pre-cut, so you can base your measurements off that.
Comment by metalandmud December 9, 2013 @ 9:41 amThank you!!! Is the pre-cut 5×7 and does that note card open up? I can’t really tell on the website.
Comment by Jenn Santos December 9, 2013 @ 11:50 amReblogged this on The Deviantie's Blog.

Pingback by Ideas inspiradoras para bodas bonitas | January 9, 2014 @ 2:21 amWhat size hole punch is the small hole puncher? and the large round punch?
Comment by Kat January 9, 2014 @ 12:12 pmOn the 5×7 notepad what did you use to make it as a portfolio and also what did you use to make the pocket? Very cute!
Comment by Gretchen Bame January 12, 2014 @ 6:28 pmI did my invitations very similar, what size envelope did you use?
Comment by Lauren February 10, 2014 @ 9:34 pmOkay, my daughter had to have these for her wedding, so we followed all of your helpful advice to the letter. These are extremely time consuming so if you are a procrastinator, this is not for you. We made 100. The cording is super thin so if you do decide to go ahead with this undertaking, I suggest trying something with a bit more substance as the little ” at home” bows were a monster. All in all, everyone thought they looked great except for the grandmother who is a bit more traditional.
Comment by Kay Larson July 3, 2014 @ 11:11 amI’d love to see a photo!
Comment by metalandmud July 3, 2014 @ 12:24 pmI was also wondering if you still have the original file that you used for your invites. If so, please email it to me. I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
Also, could you tell me the two fonts you used? Thanks again 🙂

Pingback by If Pinterest Planned My Wedding: DIY, Tips, Tricks and more! - Pink Heels Pink Truck October 5, 2014 @ 11:21 pmCan I ask what the bottom script font is? Also, how did you curve the “together with their families” line?
Thanks so much! These look so professional! Probably the best DIY Invitation I have seen!
Comment by Britney October 18, 2014 @ 8:44 amHi! I can help 🙂 I searched really long for the font because I also loved it so much. It’s the font: Jane Austen!
Comment by Ines November 3, 2014 @ 10:32 amI am really searching for the font you used at the bottom for the text “food, drink…” Could you tell me please which font it is? Thank you so much!
Comment by Ines October 21, 2014 @ 1:09 amNice idea, I really liked the pattern and the way you have arranged these cards. I enjoyed reading this post. I really liked the fonts that are used in your invitation. Can you mention the list of these fonts, especially the last one saying “food, drink and festivities to follow”.
Comment by N Parekh November 21, 2014 @ 1:23 amJust stumbled across your blog and your ADORABLE invites! You did such an awesome job on them. Hope your marriage and little baby are blessing you immensely! I get married in May and I’ve been looking for invites just like these and haven’t been able to find anything I’ve liked online. I unfortunately do not have the time to devote to making invites and am on a budget. Plus, I do not have a laser printer or even a working printer right now. I know someone had already asked you about commissioning you to make theirs and you had commented that you didn’t have the time and wouldn’t because you were having your baby. However, I wasn’t sure if things have changed at all and you’d consider making them for me and soon for my wedding May 24, 2015. If not, I understand, but it’d be a huge blessing. I’d need around 90. Thank you for considering, and God bless your little family.
Comment by Bekah January 24, 2015 @ 1:09 pmHi Bekah! We can definitely talk about this possibility. Why don’t you email me at metalandmud@yahoo.com and give me more details on exactly what you’d like, as well as your timeframe. I can try to put together a quote for you.
Thanks!
Comment by metalandmud January 27, 2015 @ 12:39 pmHi,
I was wondering if you could tell me what program you used to create the invites in?
Please and thank you!
Comment by lisa March 11, 2015 @ 2:06 pmI created them in photoshop, I believe.
Comment by metalandmud April 1, 2015 @ 8:35 amHi there!
I love these, I was wondering how many invites you were able to make for the $50.00 worth of material that you got?
Thanks so much!
Aimee
Comment by Aimee Hughes April 1, 2015 @ 8:27 amTrying to remember! I think it was around 90 invites total.
